Mullah Mohammad Omar-
-Born in Afghanistan sometime between 1959 and 1962.
- During Soviet occupation of Afghanistan in the 1980's Omar joined the "jihad" which means holy war. He was appointed as a commander of the Mujihadeen.
- In 1996 Omar was named commander of the faithful, or the Taliban. He ruled Afghanistan for 5 years from his base in Kandahar.
- In 2001 when Omar refused to turn over his accomplice Bin Laden after the 9/11 terrorist attack, he became the target of U.S backed attack on the Taliban.
-Omar has a 10 million dollar bounty on his head by the United States.
- Few photos or statements exist from Omar because he is in hiding, he is believed to be hiding in the mountainous areas along the Afghanistan/Pakistan border.

- One of four men who founded the Taliban movement in Afghanistan in 1994.
- Captured in a U.S raid of Karachi (Pakistan) in 2010 and sent to prison.
